Stanton Friedman was a leading ufologist in the field who often spoke at conferences, universities, on the media. He will greatly missed for his intellect and pleasant personality. Stan was indeed a one-of-a-kind person – intelligent, articulate, open-minded, and very, very good at research
Stanton Terry Friedman is a retired nuclear physicist and professional ufologist who resided in Fredericton, New Brunswick, Canada. He is the original civilian investigator of the Roswell incident

- In 1970, Friedman left full-time employment as a physicist to pursue the scientific investigation of UFOs. Since then, he gave lectures at more than 600 colleges and to more than 100 professional groups in 50 states, 10 provinces, and 19 countries outside the US. Additionally, he worked as a consultant on the topic. He published more than 80 UFO-related papers and appeared on many radio and television programs. He also provided written testimony to Congressional hearings and appeared twice at the United Nations.
Friedman was the first civilian to document the site of the Roswell UFO incident, and supported the hypothesis that it was a genuine crash of an extraterrestrial spacecraft.] In 1968 Friedman told a committee of the U.S. House of Representatives that the evidence suggests that Earth is being visited by intelligently controlled extraterrestrial vehicles..
Friedman hypothesized that UFOs may originate from relatively nearby sun like stars. A piece of evidence that he often cited with respect to this hypothesis is the 1964 star map drawn by alleged alien abductee Betty Hill during a hypnosis session.

The Battle of Los Angeles in 1942
Just months after the December 7thm 1941, Japanese attack on Pearl Harbor at 7:15 PM on February 23, 1942, Japanese submarines moved just up the coast from Los Angeles near Santa Barbara: began shelling oil fields with their deck guns. After firing 25 shells into the oil field they submerged and departed. The shelling most likely made a lot of folks jumpy and put military units on alert. “On Wednesday, February 25, 1942, as war raged in Europe and Asia, at least a million Southern Californians awoke to the scream of air-raid sirens as Los Angeles County cities blacked out at 2:25 AM.
My grandfather Henry Duncan McFarland a chiropractor was one who was awakened and saw the search lights. Some 12,000 air raid wardens reported faithfully to their posts, wondering if Japan could have launched an air attack similar to Pearl Harbor on the Naval facilities… At 3:36, AM, they were shocked and their slumbering families rudely roused again, by the 37th Coast Artillery Brigade’s antiaircraft batteries. Shells were bursting in the air and falling to the ground causing casualties.
Exploding 12.5 pound shells were detonating with a heavy, ominous sounds and steel was already raining down. All radio stations had been ordered off the air at 3:08. But the news was being written with search lights three miles high flashing into the clear sky.
Suddenly appearing were large unidentified flying objects, without wings, from a steep angle out over the Pacific Ocean curving south to east trajectory, a huge object of unknown origin, possibly with protective detection devices. At first radar detection thought these were advanced Japanese bombers on a trajectory east toward the city of Los Angeles at high speed barely skimming the water just above the surface. At 120 miles out, the object most likely picks up electronic probes from the Army long range listening apparatus or rudimentary early radar and retracts its entry shields, reducing its speed to a near crawl some 50 miles out, turning inland somewhere near Point Dume.
Scattered eyewitness accounts pick up the object apparently dropping down into the radar shadow by hugging the mostly unpopulated ridge-line along the north side of the Santa Monica Mountains in an easterly direction. It then turned south in the gap in the mountains around Sepulveda Boulevard and Mullholland Drive coming in BEHIND the majority of the anti-aircraft guns and any possible radar or long range listening devices. In a continuing steeply angled climb out of the Santa Monica mountains the object curved slightly to the east around and well above the 511 foot altitude of Baldwin Hills in what appeared to be a concerted effort to stay away from all the potential aircraft and armament associated with Mines Field (now LAX). The object turned westward toward the ocean coming out over the aircraft manufacturing plants near the El Segundo tank farm, then, dropping altitude, and south along the coast. Reports were circulation of a huge craft launching smaller fighters. Additional small craft were seen launched from the large craft, but no bombs were being dropped. Only the sounds of multiple anti-aircraft guns being fired were heard.
A giant aerial object of unknown origin appeared in the night sky only to escape after more than 1440 direct rounds from anti-aircraft guns blasted the night sky. The gunners claimed the object was hit numerous times, but had some sort of protection from the anti-aircraft shells. Some of the smaller objects were hit and burning floating down and crashed into the ocean and mountains.
A witness reports the object crossed directly over the top of him and his father and its actual shape was hard to discern against the night sky. My dad, who in 1929 had actually watched the Graf Zeppelin land in Los Angeles at Mines Field (now LAX) and even, walked under the giant airship. He often said the object was bigger, than the 776 feet long German Zeppelin. Using the black and white photographs as a starting base they conclude:
“From the width of the light beams at the point they reached the object, plus the knowledge that at least one of them came from a searchlight battery in Manhattan Beach. Frank Warren has concluded that it must have been considerably larger, that is, around 800 feet in length.”
Some felt it was sort of like the triangular shape of present day stealth aircraft or more closely, an upside down pointed shovel.
There was no sign of ribs or superstructure, markings, alien Hieroglyphic writing, insignias, or numbers — earth-based or otherwise. There were no openings, windows, portholes, hatches, motors, propellers, or lights that I remember. It had no wheels, wings, fins, or stabilizers either, although it did have the capability to rise and fall in altitude and pick up and gain speed as well as have the ability to go so slow it barely moved. It took well over thirty minutes to travel the twenty miles or so from Baldwin Hills to the ocean to Redondo Beach, Allegedly, both the Navy and Army recovered small disc shaped UFOs that had crashed. The Navy recovered theirs from the Pacific Ocean.

Aztec UFO Crash Site
In March of 1948 a UFO crash was discovered on a lonely mesa top near Aztec, New Mexico… A large metallic object with over a dozen humanoid aliens and strange hieroglyphics inside the craft were allegedly found. The supposed 1948 UFO crash, 12 miles northeast of town, left several three-foot-tall humanoid bodies for the authorities to spirit away. The crash site is in Hart Canyon with nothing much to see, since the area has been cleaned. The crashed saucer tale t started with Frank Scully’s book, “Behind the Flying Saucers”, published in 1950.
The story recounts that a large flying disc came down in a controlled descent to land on top of a mesa overlooking Hart Canyon near Aztec, New Mexico on March 25, 1948. Almost nine months after the celebrated Roswell event, the recovery of this disc by the Interplanetary Phenomena Unit has long been discounted as a hoax perpetrated by Scully’s sources. There are residents of Aztec who think the event really happened as recounted by a few first-hand witnesses who have now come forward and spoken in confidence to investigators. But every March the town hosts an annual Aztec UFO Symposium, run by a local organization to help the town library, held at the Masonic Lodge. One highlight is a guided tour out to the crash site.
The UFO conventions in Aztec are no more, but you can visit the site and see what is perhaps the only plaque at an alleged UFO crash site. Author Scott Ramsey left the plaque in 2007 that tells the story of the crash recovery. Between the plaque and the parking area is a concrete slab that Ramsey believes was used in the recovery. The 1948 UFO crash, left several three-foot-tall humanoid bodies for the authorities to spirit away. Witnesses to the incident who were interviewed by the authors affirm that they were sworn to secrecy by the military. The authors also reveal the names of scientists who worked on the craft after its recovery.
Dr. Robert Sarbacher Confirms UFO Crash Rumors
A remarkable interview occurred in Washington, D.C., on September 15, 1950, but the content did not leak out until the early 1980s, when Canadian ufologist Arthur Bray found a memo by one of the participants, radio engineer Wilbert B. Smith of Canada’s Department of Transport. The memo described a conversation with physicist Dr. Robert I. Sarbacher, (shown) a consultant with the U.S. Department of Defense Research and Development Board (RDB), at one of the regular meetings and other government scientists conducted with their Canadian counterparts. On September 15, 1950: Wilbur Smith met with Dr. Sarbacher and immediately following the interview wrote notes about the meeting.
Asked about the crash rumors, Sarbacher said they were “substantially correct.” He said, “UFOs exist and we have not been able to duplicate their performance, all we know is, we didn’t make them, and it’s pretty certain they didn’t originate on the Earth.” The issue was so sensitive that “it is classified two points higher even than the H-bomb. In fact it is the most highly classified subject in the U.S. government at the present time.” Sarbacher refused to say more.
Smith, who died in 1961, mounted a small, short-lived UFO investigation, Project Magnet, for his government. Through official channels he tried unsuccessfully to learn more than Sarbacher’s cryptic remarks had revealed. After the memo surfaced, ufologists found a listing for Dr. Sarbacher in Who’s Who in America, citing his impressive scientific, business, and educational credentials.
When interviewed, Dr. Sarbacher said he had not personally participated in the UFO project, though he knew those who had, including U.S. Department of Defense Research and Development Board head Vannevar Bush, John von Neumann, and J. Robert Oppenheimer — three of America’s top scientists in the 1940s and 1950s. He had read documents related to the project and on occasion had been invited to participate in Air Force briefings.
“There were reports that instruments or people operating these machines were also of very light weight, sufficient to withstand the tremendous deceleration and acceleration associated with their machinery,” Sarbacher told an inquirer in 1983. “I remember in talking with some of the people at the office that I got the impression these ‘aliens’ were constructed like certain insects we have observed on Earth, wherein because of the low mass the inertial forces involved in operating of these instruments would be quite low. I still do not know why the high order of classification has been given and why the denial of the existence of these devices.” Sarbacher could not recall where the crashes had taken place, but he did remember hearing of “extremely light and very tough” materials recovered from them.
Sarbacher’s story never varied, and he resisted the temptation to elaborate or speculate. All who interviewed him were impressed. Still, his story could not be verified, since the persons he named were all dead. Sarbacher himself died in the summer of 1986.
They believe a base exists on far side of moon and that these craft originate from there and mother ships photographed as large cigar shaped vehicles. Just like our naval aircraft carriers only airborne. If you will notice all Apollo mission landing sites were in locations where moon anomalies and strange artificial lights and shapes were previously photographed. These areas were not chosen at random. I believe our astronauts had a military mission as well.
Sarbacher claimed the facts reported in Frank Scully’s book “Behind the Flying Saucers,” are substantially correct. “Behind The Flying Saucers” Review
Chris Evans who authored “Alien Conspiracy: Unraveling the UFO/Alien Mystery” stated in the MUFON UFO Journal Oct 2003, that the famous Dr. Gee in Frank Scullyâ’s book “Behind The Flying Saucers” was actually the eminent magnetic scientist Dr. Walter Russel (1871-1963) and much in this book is true.
I had always felt this was a basically factual book because Scully had met with the first hand witness to at least two UFO crashes. The book discussed that three flying saucers were found on this continent and a fourth on the Sahara Desert. Scully and Dr. Gee (Russel) were driving to Phoenix early in the summer of 1949, and heard a radio news report of a flying saucer and Scully asked Dr. Russel about them. “Too bad we weren’t associated before,” he said. “I could have worked you into the project of the first one we were called in to examine.” It landed down near Aztec, New Mexico. I got a call and flew down from Denver in three hours.
He started to tell the details of two saucers the research magnetic scientist had personally seen, examined, checked on, and researched. Dr. Gee might show us some of the things that had been taken off one flying saucer – some small disks of a metal unknown to this earth, a tiny radio which operated under principles quite unknown to our engineers, a strange cloth, some gears and other small things which he could carry with him, and which he had taken off one of the ships for research, after he found members of the Air Force picking off pieces just for souvenirs.
Showing no feeling whatever that he was airing confidences which might be violated, he answers all sorts of question concerning the possible origin of the flying saucers and how they might have got to this earth from another planet, and, more important to his mind, how they could have got back to where they came from. The smallest detail, which a woman might bring up, about the interior of the cabin of the flying saucer, matters of water, food, clothing, were quietly explained just a s one might describe the furniture of his own home. His knowledge of magnetic energy was as far ahead of us as, say, the knowledge of atomic-energy scientist mush have been to the average person, snip.
It means more because the geophysicist said he had checked over two of the saucers and believed they were driven, not by fuel, jet, turbojet, or even athodyds, but by magnetic power and that due to certain metals not found on the this earth but found on the saucers, he suspected the space ships were from another planet. In fact he ridiculed the idea of anything getting even as far as the moon on jet propulsion or anything like it. A dozen small bodies are found dead on the craft. Rumors claim at least one was found alive.
Before he left he promised us he would show us small parts of one of the saucers on his next trip from Phoenix. A radio had him particularly baffled. It had no tubes, no aerials, and no wires. He guessed the cabin must have been its antenna. He was trying to rig up a substitute antenna. He could hear a high singsong note 15 minutes past the hour. However, the dial was so micro metrically keyed it was difficult to stay on the wave. He was thinking of setting up something like a block-and-fall, which permits a clumsy hand to lift a heavy object. Anyway he’d take it along. It wasn’t much bigger than a king-sized cigarette package. He said he regretted the ship was dismantled this way but the Army seems to breed souvenir hunting as it does rank. When he saw what was happening he grabbed a few things himself, not to put in his trophy cabinet but to use for research. (Snip)
In time we saw all those things – all except the jacket. We examined the radio, their gears, and the film. Then began the reign of error. Air Force closed Project Saucer and went underground. All were told to forget what they knew; “Hallucinations” became a routine answer. “Psycho ” became the veiled threat. Everybody shut up but the people. The Weapon of Weather Destruction by Design
Hundreds of tornados, heavy storms and flooding causing deaths have continued in the United States. I spent the last several days cleaning up damage to my yard with the loss of three trees and hundreds of limbs. I had never seen destruction to my property like this and remembered reading about weather modification. In 1968, when I was in Vietnam briefing the general’s about a couple C-130s and two F-4s fighter aircraft were able to cause heavy rains over Laos. Fifty years later weather modification is a reality and we are seeing the results.
The US and its Allies have many enemies and NATO is carrying out economic sanctions against Russia that is known to have extensive weather modification capabilities. For example, the Russians own HAARP equipment that is apparently functioning.
In 1966, Professor Gordon J. F. MacDonald was Associate Director of the Institute of Geophysics and Planetary Physics at the University of California, and a member of the President’s Council on Environmental Quality. He published papers on the use of environmental control technologies for military purposes. MacDonald made a revealing comment: “The key to geophysical warfare is the identification of environmental instabilities to which the addition of a small amount of energy would release vastly greater amounts of energy.” World-recognized scientist MacDonald had a number of ideas for using the environment as a weapon system and he contributed to what was, at the time, the dream of a futurist. When he wrote his chapter, “How to Wreck the Environment“, for the book “Unless Peace Comes,” he was not kidding around. In it he describes the use of weather manipulation, climate modification, polar ice-cap melting or destabilization, ozone depletion techniques, earthquake engineering, ocean wave control and brainwave manipulation using the planet’s energy fields. He also said, “These types of weapons would be developed and, when used, would be virtually undetectable by their victims.”

The military’s intention to do environmental engineering is well-documented. US Congress’s subcommittee hearings on Oceans and International Environment looked into military weather and climate modification conducted in the early 1970s. “What emerged was an awesome picture of far-ranging research and experimentation into ways environmental tampering could be used as a weapon,”
Congressional leaders may find out that technologies developed out of the HAARP experiments in Russia could deliver on Gordon MacDonald’s vision, because leading-edge scientists are describing global weather as not only air pressure and thermal systems but also as an electrical system. SMALL INPUT, BIG EFFECT HAARP zaps the ionosphere where it is relatively unstable.
I suggest the weather in the US is abnormal and is probably caused by geoengineering programs, or by various Russian and Chinese weather modification programs. A point to remember is that the ionosphere is an active electrical shield protecting the planet from the constant bombardment of high-energy particles from space. This conducting plasma, along with Earth’s magnetic field, traps the electrical plasma of space and holds it back from going directly to the Earth’s surface, says Charles Yost of Dynamic Systems, Leicester, North Carolina: “If the ionosphere is greatly disturbed, the atmosphere below is subsequently disturbed.”
Another scientist interviewed said there is a super-powerful electrical connection between the ionosphere and the part of the atmosphere where our weather comes onstage: the lower atmosphere. One man made electrical effect-power-line harmonic resonance-causes fallout of charged particles from the Van Allen (radiation) belts, and the falling ions cause ice crystals (which precipitate rain clouds).
What about HAARP? Energy blastedd upward from an ionospheric heater is not much compared to the total in the ionosphere, but HAARP documents admit that thousand fold greater amounts of energy can be released in the ionosphere than injected. As with MacDonald’s “key to geophysical warfare”, “nonlinear” effects (described in the literature about the ionospheric heater) mean small input and large output.

Sumiton – I have witnessed many UFOs in
Alabama in Walker County over the years.
I’m sharing some of my photos taken in my yard.

Aventra — At around 20:30 hours I experienced with my family a very strange event that unfolding before our very eyes on May 24, 2013. We live a mile south of the Miami-Dade/Broward County Line… I was called to the balcony and noticed the “cloud” was getting brighter and brighter as well as larger. There was no external light pointed at this cloud and it was self-luminescent. This cloud was north at around the county line at my 800 to 900 feet high, 500 feet wide with a girth of 200 feet. I got my iPhone and started filming… The center had a sphere rotating ever so slow clockwise within the cloud. The entire event took less than 3 to 4 minutes. There was a small tail attached to the cloud.
Minneapolis — I was driving down the freeway in Minneapolis on November 29, 2017.and saw a bright light brighter than any of the lights around just stationary in the sky above the freeway.
New York Triangle
Clayville – a giant triangle of lights was seen on May 15, 201. Three bright lights forming a triangle was observed. The one on the right streaked across the sky at an unbelievably fast pace. The other two stayed. Then the one on the right of the remaining two pulsed four times. Then they all disappeared.
South Carolina Orbs
North Myrtle Beach — The time was about 9:40 PM and we were looking East over the ocean on. May 14, 2019. We noticed two orange glows for about 2 seconds. They disappeared and came back and I got these pictures. The weather was clear and the temperature about 65 degrees
The ocean is on the bottom third of the photo. You can see the white from the waves. Keep in mind that the enlargements that I did point downward. The original orbs are the ones on the top end of the arrows. I suppose that this can be misleading. I don’t know what these orbs are. I did not classify this sighting as unidentified. Hillsboro – On May 7, 2019, as I was driving home alone on the freeway when I look up and see a huge floating object. It took me about 5 seconds to realize what I was seeing was not of this planet. It was large, black with red lights. It had a very cool sleek design with shiny material. I was terrified and started crying and drove faster to get away from it because I felt like it was after me. I immediately called my husband just in case I would never see him again. I only saw the ship when it was almost directly hovering over me. It seemed to almost have just magically appeared out of thin air. One reason the lights in the video may not be the UFO I described is that the lights in the video seem to be way further away than what I saw the spaceship being. It was pretty close to me for me to see each individual light. I drew a rough picture of it.
Fort Worth – I witness all kinds of “interesting” aircraft from my backyard late at night as it faces Alliance Airport. On May 15, 2019… I’ve been caught off guard, but what I witnessed this morning made me literally jump out of my seat. I heard it before I saw it then I saw a craft taking off like any plane would, but this thing didn’t have wings, or anything I would normally associate with an aircraft. It was square shaped and looked flat looking up, with large, blinking lights on each end. It almost looked like an enormous drone moving fast.
I live close to the airport and often see aircraft and took this photo the last few seconds of it before it disappeared over my home. The video does no justice to what I heard and witnessed.
Whitman — I was taking photos on top of Steptoe Butte in the middle of a bright sunny day on May 5, 20-19. I didn’t notice object until later when I started cropping my photos and zooming in on the landscape. At first I thought it could be a bird at long distance. On a closer zoom I thought maybe a drone. I’ve never seen a drone that shape before as it was silver oval to circular with white vapor.
Milwaukee — I parked on Lena’s grocery store parking lot, on August 24, 2017, and looked up to the sky when I saw the cloud looking ufo shape in the sky. I screamed excitedly to my son “Look a ufo” I’m a fan of ufo so we excitedly came out of my car quick to take pictures”
I was so exited taking pictures I didn’t even think of taking a video, so then I proceeded after that to go inside the grocery store quick because I wanted to see if it was still there. Eleven minutes later I took another photo which was not the full shape ufo I had seen, it was like a ufo was there and it left the rest of the cloud behind it or smoke or something.
Worldwide UFO Sightings
Chidlow – On May 15, 2019, sitting outside there were some isolated clouds around and jet airliners just passed by approx 5km away when I noticed a dark circular object about the diameter of an aircraft fuselage. It moved east in a shallow arc at great speed and disappeared over the horizon. Then another object did the same from approximately the same location.
Blackburn North, Melbourne — I saw a big commercial Qantas jet coming in for landing and as it passed over Head I saw a dark object in the distance behind the plane that started pulsating and flashing light. It had moments where it would hover, then would move south. São Paulo – These lights sent other lights to the ground.

Chillan – I have attached a seven second video that appears to show an object moving at high speed. The video was made with my drone camera. The object appears in seven frames and I was recording at 24 frames per second. To see the object, it MUST be played at a slower speed, I’m using the VLC Video Player and under playback, I selected Slower (fine) and slowed it down to 0.03 xs. The main object appears at approximately 4 seconds into the 7 second video. I do not know if it is a real object or simply a reflection or some type of lens flare.
Cusco — I was in Peru taking a train back to Cusco from Machu Picchu and was taking pictures of ruins and beautiful mountains. When reviewing the pictures, I noticed a very geometrical disc shaped object in two pictures. It’s a copper color that has a glowing/mist coming from. It looks very geometric and not like a reflection. Would like to know what this is?
Caloocan – On November 24, 2017, at 6:14 pm-I saw a disc shape object with blue and white lights descending from 300 meters down to 50 meters, then hovering above the tree. While I’m riding my motorcycle going to pick up my girlfriend, I saw this object hovering with blue and white lights on it. I thought it was a drone but when I reach the village gate I saw huge disc with flashing clockwise rotation synchronized motion. Then before I reach the village gate I saw another one a bus shape with black windshields and flashing lights about
300 meters away from me north side and hovering just above the power lines. I focus looking and following at the disc shape which is closer to me. We meet in front of the village gate and clearly see 10 blue and white lights, 5 neon blue lights and a white bright light moving inside the plasma ball. I can see the electricity moving center of the glass ball flowing in the glass ball. Then I just focus looking at the neon blue glass ball and I saw a plasma ball like at high voltage electricity glowing. It’s like an eye glowing with motion electricity inside it. I was hypnotized and paralyze for a few seconds. I’m only a 50 meters away from the object beside the power line post. I saw the ufo disc craft moving away and I saw the bottom of the craft it has a convex shape in the middle. It stops above the Magdalena Village and is suddenly gone. It’s not a man-made air craft.
Madrid — A group of white objects go behind a black object that approaches a sphere with many lights. Photo was taken on May 11, 2019
Hartlepool — Blinking lights like an ordinary aircraft would, and seemed far too low to be a satellite. I carried on videoing the silent object on its flight path till it went out of view. I have not seen anything like this before. This photo was taken with a Panasonic DMC-TZ40 153 digital zoom camera, in the vicinity of Orion. This does not appear to be a star. Bathgate — I have always prided myself in my ability to spot an aircraft type at extreme distances, I used to enter and win most the aircraft recognition competitions. And, through my gliding, I also have a good handle on weather and atmospheric events. I had aerial sighting on May 12, 2019, afternoon. I was watching the planes climbing out of Edinburgh, when I caught a flash of light over the capital, above the departing aircraft’s altitude. I noticed it was hovering. It just stayed there for half an hour. I got my telephoto, X63, autofocus only but managed to get a couple of shots at maximum zoom. It appears to be two separate objects. Lining up for another shot, I had it focusing but it just suddenly vanished
Valencia — I saw a landed object, my first sight was a couple months ago, today its back. Again maybe the pictures don’t show any real proof, you must zoom in.

East London –My name is Leander, I’m from South Africa, and my sister is the witness to the whole thing. On May 13, 2019, she was visiting my aunt at the old age home. My aunts’ room is on the 5th floor. My sister found the city view from the 5th floor to be amazing and took 2 photos out the window right after the other. Split second if not less difference between the two photos. We don’t know if this is a ufo or what it is?
