Are the Videos Taken over Jerusalem Real or Fake?

The Jerusalem UFO Videos

By

The Initial Video

In Jerusalem, Israel, in the wee hours of January 28, 2011, two individuals were admiring the view over one of the world’s most holiest cities, the seat of the Christian-Judeo religion. They were at the Armon Hanatziv Lookout over Mount Zion, at 1:00 AM.

As they were enjoying the view over the city, they were distracted by another sight – a white orb which appeared at first high over the city. We do not know how much time elapsed between the initial sighting of the object, and the beginning of the video.

However, about 50 seconds into the video, the object begins to descend toward the Dome of the Rock.

This significant site is an important Islamic shrine and Jerusalem landmark located on the Temple Mount. The structure, the oldest extant example of early Islamic architecture, was completed in 691 CE at the order of Arabian Umayyad Caliph, Abd al-Malik. The site’s significance stems from religious traditions regarding the rock, known as the Foundation Stone, at its heart. (www.wikipedia)

According to this first video located at youtube.com, it takes approximately 8 seconds for the object to descend and hover over the Dome of the Rock.

The object either sits still or barely moves over the Dome for about 15 seconds before something extraordinary occurs – a bright flash of light/energy can be seen emanating from the object. This light or energy source can be seen over many of the surrounding buildings/structures in the immediate area of the Dome.

At this point, the object shoots straight up into the sky. The cameraman quickly attempts to follow its course, and several other orbs can be seen in the sky above the city. This first video is 2:12 long, submitted to youtube by UFOCentral, and contained no description.

Second Video Posted

The report of the first video hit the Internet running, with multiple UFO-related web sites and blogs carrying the embedded video. Within minutes, the comment wars began. Some sites that I am familiar with had as many as 300 comments on the video, with the pro and con camps split about 50/50 on its authenticity.

Very shortly after this first video, while sides were being drawn, a second video emerged with a much closer view of the object.

The second entry contained this description: Update – 11:26 AM 1/31/2011 – Proof Jerusalem UFO video is real. A new video of the UFO over Jerusalem surfaced tonight from a tourist that was filming while on a late night tour of Jerusalem on January 28th 2011.

The video is not the clearest because it was dark out, but it catches the same glowing orb that was caught on tape from across town.

The comments on this video ran about the same as the first, with accusations, threats, bashing, name calling, you name it. All in the name of Ufology. The just over 40 second video begins just as the object has descended above the Dome. In this video, you can clearly see that the object is some 20-30 feet above the Dome.

Again, about 15 seconds later, the object zooms up into the sky. If my eyes did not deceive me, there is one important difference in this video. Just before the object exits to the sky, there does not appear to be a flash of light. If this is true, then at this time in the investigation, at least one of the two videos can be deemed a fabrication.

More Videos Follow

More videos would soon follow, as the heated discussions continued. There were split-screen comparisons, enhanced video, slowed down versions, some attempting to show the original video was a fake, others to prove it was the real thing.

Also, a lengthy video is posted which begins with young people riding in an automobile, who get out just in time to see, and video the same scene as portrayed in the original.

Final Thoughts

I’m sure that more video has been offered since I begin this short article, but there are a few facts that are quite evident.

Declarations that this is the “smoking gun.” Sorry, not so. You might ask “Why not?”

In any case where photographs or videos are presented as authentic proof of UFOs, some basic criteria must exist, although readers tend to put more emphasis on the photo or video than the report. For me, it has always been a requirement before I will post a current photo or video to have some basic information about the video/photo and the submitter.

I will reply to the sender’s email. If it does not go through, no cigar! If it is a legitimate email address, I ask for at least the time, date, and location of the photo/video. Also, all of the information available as to what the witness was doing at the time, why was he/she there? Did he/she actually see the unknown object? Did anyone else see it?

The witness private, personal information can remain private, but I need to know who he/she is.

What does all of this have to do with the Jerusalem videos?

Here is the problem. We need to know who these people are? Why has no one come forward with an eyewitness account? Did only a handful of people see this alleged extraordinary sight in a large, modern, heavily populated city? Why has no Israeli media jumped on it?

If more of this basic, needed information could be gathered, we might look at the Jerusalem videos under a new light, but for now, they do not march us any closer to the proving that UFOs are real.

Former Ministry of Defence UFO investigator Nick Pope said: “If these are real, they are some of the most incredible videos ever shot. “If they are not, then this is a very well-planned and coordinated hoax designed to eliminate elements of doubt.”
